On a monday evening after light rain the circuit had only about 20 cars on it. Unfortunately there was some oil but the marshall did tell me about it as he advised against me going round. I went round anyway and loved it. Had to keep moving to the left to avoid the oil which was probably a bit annoying for the faster cars in the corners but had a great time. Expensive but worth it!

Nuerburgring is one of the locations that needs to be on every driver/riders ucket list. The trip out to the ring is spectacular in its scenery, as well as the quality of the roads. Its not cheap to lap, but - well worth the cost. Understand that if you are sucked in by the atmosphere and run full speed, and have an accident - you are responsible not just for your self and your vehicle, but making good any damage to their facility (guard rail, etc), so be aware.

Advice before making a trip: Contact the Ring @ +49 (0) 2691 302 630 or check their website. Remember that the track is frequently booked for other events, and in the off season, weather can be a significant factor (and may close the track). On the way: Make sure that you have adequate fuel; youd be amazed how fast it disappears at speed (Don Ask Me How I Know). Travel with a group, so you are not on your own if there are any issues. During: The track is well maintained, but its LONG, so there CAN be infrequent surface issues. Afterwards: Enjoy a beverage with the locals at any of the local knipen - you never know who youll meet, or what stories youll hear. Germans make many very good beers, some great beers, but NO below average beers! /grin.

Fantastic fun, even on a slow bike (Bonneville). Just remember to stay on the right side of the road, until you are certain that you e faster than the others (and remember - they are FAST).

A truly great ride but not without its hazards! Good if you get it empty (like this film) but a whole different storey when its busy. A great way to rid yourself of those troublesome chicken-Strips even on a fully laden touring bike! Don forget if you do it on the second day of your 10 day tour to the Alps you and the bike need to get to the end in one piece! If you crash the cops are there to give you a ticket when they drag you off the track (normal German road laws apply)!

if you only ride one piece of road in germany its got to be this , worth paying the money for 4 laps , just be aware that it is a race track and can be dangerous but dont let the scare stories put you off

This is an excellent track for all standards of bikers. Even the route up to the Nurburgring is full of bends and crests to slowly build up the adrenalin. The 2008 costs are 21 Euros a lap which is about £14.50 but the more laps you purchase the cheaper it is. Weekedays are a good time to go especially the evening sessions when the majority of people visiting have gone home. As you can see by the video the track was fairly empty and that was a 1 and a half hour session from 18:00 - 19:30. 4 laps perfectly fit into this time slot with about a 10 minute break between. Total cost £43 plus £20 fuel. Always check in advance the opening times as sometimes the track is used for corporate events and race days. It is pretty much a one way system with no speed limits. Courtesy is always appreciated for fast approaching vehicles and overtaking is done on the left. Other than that it is a fantastic experience no matter how good a rider you are. Enjoy!!!

The legendary famous and extremely dangerous race track that saw Niki Lauda burning in his F1 car with the Marshalls unable to reach him. Because of saftey standards, this racetrack is no longer in use, but thanks to free enterprise it has been opened to the public as a Toll Road. Can that really be? OH YES!! Fantastic!!
