Great for a short little ride; I think my GPS clocked around 10 minutes for the actual ride itself, but I spent a lot more time checking out some of the bridges and dams along the creek. It´s a very quiet little area; I drove up it around 7PM and going up and back down I didn´t pass a single other car, just a lot of bicyclists. If you keep going past the north end of this route and bear left, you´ll come across another really nice single lane old bridge to explore.

This is a smaller route, but you could spend half a day there exploring. This road runs along Swamp Creek. The creek is visible through 90% of the ride. The creek is littered with rocks and boulders, some as large as Mack truck. There are many places to pull over and explore the creek and large rocks, many of which are in the creek giving you a place to jump boulders with water working its way through the maze of boulders. There are two dams with waterfalls, one of which you can walk across depending on the water height. Many people fish along the creek so if you fish, this is a great place to take your gear. Bring a camera! Ive logged probably 2000 pictures here. Every visit brings something new (plants, flowers growing, seasonal leaves, wildlife, frogs, birds, different water levels make the flow change over the rocks and boulders). The entire stretch borders a very old Boy Scout encampment. Youll find 100 year old chimneys in the woods from long lost cabins, hand made dams and waterfalls (most of which are destroyed from flooding years ago), natural waterfalls within the boulders and some really interesting water paths that are shaped with the boulders. Youll even find some boulders with holes in them, drilled from millions of years of water flow. Dont be shy, pull off the road where you see a pull off area and walk to the river and explore! Swamp Creek Road itself is a great ride with twists and turns and small elevation changes. Enjoy!
