Excellent route - shame about the average speed restriction (although not sure they can pick a bike!?). Definitely agree with the poor quality surface on the A52 roundabout - ease off. Take care on the A151 for some of the sharp bends; you can definitely get cars / bike on or crossing the line. The A6121 is a great little section especially without traffic!! :-). Thanks.

An ideal route for summer evenings or Sunday mornings, this route takes in the well documented A151 Bourne to Colsterworth as well as some of the great south lincolnshire bike routes. Starting in Folkingham its pretty sedate as the A52 has speed cameras (both fixed and mobile), once you reach Somerby roundabout a word of caution - this surface is horrendous!! Lorries have cut big ruts in the surface and you could easy lose the front if you should hit these fast. After this roundabout the road becomes more enjoyable with serious of tight & twisty aswell as fast & flowing; word to the wise there is a very tight bend under that goes under the railway bridge, however if you are going a little hard there is a tarmaced farm drive which makes an ideal run-off. Join the A1 for a short stint then onto A151(there is a useful Petrol stop here), the next section is well known with some excellent straights and bends (especially around Grimesthorpe). Beware the police occassionally set-up a mobile unit in Corby Glenn fire station. Before you reach Bourne take the A6121 towards Stamford, I love this road (especially the hump back bridge at Toft) but certain times of year Tractors are in abundance. Once in Stamford head for the A16, the A16 is fast and flowing and a good surface, watch the crossroads at West Deeping as drivers often misjudge speed of approaching bikes. At Market Deeping head down dual carriage way, rejoin A15 heading toward Bourne - this road is better when commuters are at home watching Corrie!! Once past Bourne the road is quick straights and nice flowing bends, there a few junctions but these are easily spotted, becareful approaching Aslackby as the Police often sit on the hill approaching the village and you won't see them until it's too late. One final twisty section before journey's end, the last bend as you enter the 30 limit in Folkingham has a nasty rut in the middle of the carriage way but this is marked for repair. Happy riding & keep it rubber side down.
